How does Circadia improve my sleep?
The data from the Contactless Sleep Tracker allows our Sleep Genius and Coach Team to craft a bespoke set of techniques based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) and Light Therapy personalised to your unique body clock. The gold standard of care for insomnia and circadian rhythm problems.
Why do I need to track my sleep?
The price of sleep improvement is sleep tracking. It helps with defining the problem and goal-setting. The baseline of sleep patterns is important to set the initial time in bed recommendation, track progress, reinforce appropriate behaviour change, problem solve obstacles to adherence, and adjust time in bed recommendation for each appointment. Continous tracking over time allows us to look at patterns across weeks, but looking at one night and judging it as poor is not helpful. We have a fluke or bad night from time-to-time. It is cumulative poor nights every night or most nights that's problematic. Not one or two nights out of 7 in the week. Finally, it shows progression over time which allows the Sleep Genius and Sleep Coaches/Therapists to see how your individualised set of techniques are working overtime so that we can make small tweaks over time.
Is the Sleep Tracker good?
The Contactless Sleep Tracker is based on 20 years of research and development spanning various field - electronics, chip design, biomotion sensing, sleep medicine, and circadian neuroscience. From Day 1, our approach has been to benchmark our technology against gold-standard polysomnography. We currently have 50 nights of clinical validation data on healthy sleepers and have 500 nights of on-going clinical trials on healthy and unhealthy sleepers. This is enables us to continously improve our algorithms on the fly via software upgrades.
How does the Contactless Sleep Tracker work?
The Contactless Sleep Tracker emits biomotion signals from a 60-degree viewing angle, analysing the mechanical displacement of your chest and body actigraphy. Signals are emitted from the sensor and the reflected signals are received and further analysed using proprietary algorithms - allowing the system to detect your breathing rate, heart rate and body movement overnight. The sensor is FCC certified and incredibly low-powered, even weaker than your mobile phone - it's like sleeping with a phone within a 200 metres (650 ft) distance.
I have all this sleep data now what?
Circadia is an end-to-end service, so we make sure that your sleep data is actionable. Our Sleep Genius and Coaches will help create a personalised programme with a set of techniques based on your data.
What is the difference between a Sleep Genius and Sleep Coach?
Put simply, our Sleep Genius team are your care coordinators making sure you understand your data, give tips on what to do, and follow-up with progress reports. It's a concierge like service always by your side to help support you. Our Sleep Coaches are certified and trained in the highest levels of behavioural medicine - cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia. They are usually clinical psychologists that have years of experience in the field. Once you pay for a session you get your own dedicated Coach for the duration of your care unless you choose to find someone new.
What if there are 2 people on the same bed?
Circadia is intelligent enough to detect two unique signals from two people in the same room. In the future, we'll also be able to track people with 1 device. To ensure Circadia records your sleep quality with optimal accuracy, place the device nearest to you on your bedside table at a couple of arm's length distance away.
Why shouldn't I just buy another Sleep Tracker like Fitbit?
Majority of alternatives in the market like wristbands, rings or mats are contact based which may disturb the natural sleep habits of users. This may have an impact on your sleep tracking and quite often leads to a problem called Orthosomnia - anxiety driven from tracking. On top of that, you need to charge most of these devices. If you use it overnight you'll most likely drain your device and phone battery quicker and you'll need to charge during your busy daytime. Most importantly, alternative tracking devices are very often not benchmarked against gold-standard polysomnography which makes the data unreliable and the amount of data produced from these devices barely scratches level for what required for an in-depth sleep assessment.
Are there are initiation fees or canceling fees or other sneaky fees?
Nope. We hate additional fees as much as you do.
Is this like one of those record clubs from the '90s that are impossible to cancel?

What if I already sleep great?
